Mattel (MAT) To Report Earnings Tomorrow: Here Is What To Expect

Toy manufacturing and entertainment company (NASDAQ:MAT) will be reporting earnings this Tuesday after market hours. Here’s what investors should know.

Mattel missed analysts’ revenue expectations by 5.5% last quarter, reporting revenues of $1.74 billion, down 5.9% year on year. It was a softer quarter for the company, with a significant miss of analysts’ revenue estimates and a significant miss of analysts’ EPS estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Mattel’s revenue to grow 11.4% year on year to $1.83 billion, improving from the 1.6% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $0.55 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Mattel has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates six times over the last two years.

Looking at Mattel’s peers in the consumer discretionary segment, some have already reported their Q4 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Bark’s revenues decreased 22.1% year on year, missing analysts’ expectations by 4.1%, and MasterCraft reported revenues up 13.2%, topping estimates by 4.1%. Bark’s stock price was unchanged after the resultswhile MasterCraft was up 8.6%.
