CNO Financial Group (CNO) Q4 Earnings: What To Expect

Insurance services company CNO Financial Group (NYSE:CNO) will be reporting results this Thursday afternoon. Here’s what to expect.

CNO Financial Group met analysts’ revenue expectations last quarter, reporting revenues of $964.9 million, up 2.5% year on year. It was a mixed quarter for the company, with a beat of analysts’ EPS estimates but a significant miss of analysts’ book value per share estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting CNO Financial Group’s revenue to be flat year on year at $998.4 million, slowing from the 7.1% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $1.21 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. CNO Financial Group has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates five times over the last two years.

Looking at CNO Financial Group’s peers in the insurance segment, some have already reported their Q4 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Prudential delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 11.6%, meeting analysts’ expectations, and Horace Mann Educators reported revenues up 6.3%, falling short of estimates by 2.5%.
