The company was born in 2014 when Burger King (American fast-food) and Tim Hortons (Canadian coffee chain) merged to form Restaurant Brands International under the leadership of Brazilian private equity firm 3G Capital. The company expanded further in 2017 when it acquired Popeyes (fried chicken), adding a new dimension of growth to its portfolio of brands.
