When considering an investment in Alta, investors should account for its valuation and business qualities as well as what’s happened in the latest quarter.

We cheer for all companies making their customers lives easier, but in the case of Alta, we’ll be cheering from the sidelines. Although its revenue growth was exceptional over the last five years, it’s expected to deteriorate over the next 12 months and its declining EPS over the last five years makes it a less attractive asset to the public markets. And while the company’s projected EPS for the next year implies the company’s fundamentals will improve, the downside is its low free cash flow margins give it little breathing room.

Alta’s EV-to-EBITDA ratio based on the next 12 months is 6.1x. While this valuation is optically cheap, the potential downside is huge given its shaky fundamentals. There are superior stocks to buy right now.
